Safety routines
Windows and open doors
Every lesson room has a window in its door, or the door stays open.
Parents may sit in
A parent is welcome to sit in on any lesson. During youth choir, families wait in the front hall.
Who may collect a child
We hand a child only to the grown-ups on your pickup list, and we ask for ID from anyone we do not know.
When a student is unwell
A student who is unwell stays home. Tell us by text or a call, and we offer the time to the waitlist.

Family policies
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
When to keep your child home
A student who is unwell stays home, and we offer the lesson time to the waitlist when you tell us by text or a call. A tired or sore voice is welcome to sit out a rehearsal and listen.
Closures for weather and holidays
We close for school holidays and for a two-week winter break, and when ice or flooding makes the roads hard to drive. A text and a post on our social pages go out that morning.
Drop-off and pickup
Please bring your child to the lesson room door and meet them there afterward. After youth choir, families wait in the front hall. We hand a child only to the grown-ups on your pickup list, and we ask for ID from anyone we do not know.
Watching class and recitals
A parent is welcome to sit in on a lesson. Concerts are open to families and friends, and we ask everyone to stay seated during a song and silence their phones.
Leaving the program
We ask for a month's notice before a student's last lesson, in writing or by email, so that we can offer the time to the waitlist. A term in progress is settled with the front desk.
What to wear and bring
Wear what is comfortable for standing and singing. On concert nights many singers dress up a little, and it is their choice.
Screens and phones
Phones stay in a pocket or a bag during lessons and rehearsals, unless a teacher asks a student to record a part to practice with.
Questions about how we work?
Ask at the front desk or at your placement visit. We would rather you ask.
