How tuition works
We give you the figures in writing at the placement visit. Here is what sets them, and how everything else works.
What sets tuition
Three things set tuition: the length of the lesson, whether you take a lesson, sing in a choir or do both, and which teacher you work with. Your teacher will suggest the right mix after your placement visit.
Lesson length: 30, 45 or 60 minutes
Voice lessons, a class or a choir
Weekly, a term at a time
Registration
A yearly registration covers your student file, the placement visit and scheduling. It is due when you hold a weekly time, and the front desk gives you the figure in writing.
Holding a place
A weekly lesson time is held from your first month. When a choir or a teacher's evening is full, we keep a waitlist and offer a place by phone or email, in the order families asked.
Billing
Tuition is billed monthly or a term at a time, by card or bank transfer, with automatic payment if you choose it. Both choirs run by the term.
Help with tuition
Financial aid is available. Ask how to apply when you book your placement visit, and we will talk it through in private.
Withdrawing
We ask for a month's notice before a student's last lesson, in writing or by email, so that we can offer the time to the waitlist. A term in progress is settled with the front desk.
Missed classes and make-ups
A lesson you cancel a day ahead is made up with your teacher. A lesson a teacher cancels is always made up. Choir rehearsals and classes are not made up.
Uniforms, costumes and other costs
Concert dress, song folders and any music a teacher chooses for you are extra. We tell you what each one is for, and how it is billed, at the placement visit.
Questions about tuition?
Ask at the placement visit or call the front desk. We will answer in plain words and in writing.
